[ After all of his teasing of Rohan, he wonders if the manga-ka will actually slam the door in his face if he comes to visit. He thinks it would be funny to see Rohan open the door just to close it firmly.
Really, spending any time with Rohan is always a fun one. He also feels like he should make up for having the man take care of his younger self. The person he used to be was a little more feral and troublesome than how he is now. Oh! He admits to still be troublesome, but at least....... hm, Hisoka realizes that he doesn't have much of a leg to stand on.
I guess I didn't grow up right or grow up at all. He jokes to himself before knocking on the door to get Rohan's attention. ]
[ It's tempting to do exactly as promised and slam the door right in Hisoka's face. However, he is using the front door, as preferred. So, for that, he doesn't. Instead, he opens the door, reaches forward, and tugs Hisoka into the apartment before closing the door. ]
You're making a scene. I'm not your darling.
[ He's sure no one around here cares. After all, these apartments are paid for with Chroma, which means that having random people around isn't that uncommon. Still - he lives with someone and he really doesn't want word getting to her about this, either. He releases the other. ]
[ He laughs a little as he's tugged into the apartment. ]
It's not that big of a scene.
[ Which is his way of indicating that he could be much more obnoxious, but then, Rohan knows just how obnoxious he could be. As soon as he is released, Hisoka steps forward so that he could wrap his arms around the other's shoulders and draws himself in close. ]
I wasn't lying. I really love you. [ As much as someone like him could love someone, which is to say not a lot, but he likes saying the phrase. It sounds foreign on his tongue. It sounds awful and disgusting; he loves that, too. ]
Um...I just wanted to let you know, if I'm not around the house as much as usual, don't worry, okay? Something pretty bad happened and Abbacchio is...kind of really upset about it. So...
[The inn Rohan picked is beautiful and sleek; a real luxury experience with dark-stained hardwood, tasteful decor, and even a small porch surrounded by both foliage and a fence to ensure the guest's complete privacy from the outside world. The staff is pleasant and helpful, but never fawning. They service their clientele with dignity and poise, never once seeming subservient even as they make the experience one to be remembered.
It looks nothing like the architecture of home. There are no pink walls, no ruffled comforter, no photographs pinned to a corkboard or tucked into the seams of a vanity mirror. Being in a place like this, she won't be able to forget for a minute that she's somewhere other than Morioh-cho.
It's a relief.
But the hour is getting later and later, and she's lying on her stomach on the bed with her feet kicked up, trying to stay nonchalant as she examines the room service menu and tries to decide on something to order, less because she's actually hungry and more just as a way of keeping her mind occupied.
The sky is already at twilight, outside, and all the lights are on in the room. Kira Yoshikage is dead and he isn't here, and even if he were, no one knows they've run off to Lyestellus, anyway.
[ He's doing his round around the room. He's checking corners, under the desk, in closets, and moving around the porch before he makes his return to the bed. He doesn't vanish long, but he wants her to know that he's doing his do-diligence. Part of it is for himself and that non-memory, too. But, if she feels safe, he's fine.
When he settles down, he sits down on the edge of the bed, not far from her, glancing towards the menu in her hands. He doesn't anticipate tonight will be a night of sleep. Too many bad memories and thoughts that are hanging over them.
Best he can do is distract, distract, distract.
So if that means ordering in something, playing games, staying close, chatting - whatever he was going to do it. ]
What looks good to you? I hear that this place has has good croquettes.
[It'll get worse as the night grows darker, she knows. She'll get more withdrawn, Rohan will get more paranoid. She wishes it weren't like this, because she knows full well that his mood will derive from hers, and thus if she could only keep better control of herself, then surely he would, too.
But she's made up her mind not to blame herself for that. Instead, she waits for him to sit and then rolls over to pillow her head on his thigh, wanting the contact in whatever form she can get it.]
Ooh, that does sound good. And — hey, look. Udon for two, that might be nice.
hey rohan, this is jolyne how are you doing?? i have a very important inquiry since i know that you're an artist and all how do you feel about commissions?
[ He'd said he's always awake, but he doesn't live alone. Reimi lives together with Rohan and given what she knows of their relationship, Setsura is certain he's mindful of her. It's partially why she calls instead of texts at this late hour. She trusts his mindfulness of the woman he loves to the point she doesn't think he'd allow phone calls to be received in any intrusive manner that might disturb her. That, and there's the urgency of the matter, which sees her walking purposefully even now.
She exhales softly as she continues, searching, feeling. Ring ring, Rohan. ]
[ Working late is a part of what he does, and with his own little space for it, he answers after a couple moments. He moves to his room as he picks up - and just says - ]
[ And she's had her reasons. Even now, despite the reality of the situation she's living, facing, she mentally trips over the words, the reason, but she doesn't stop stepping. She's made up her mind and it's four extremely weighted words that fall from her lips now. ]
[ On a normal day Mista wouldn't have given a second thought to the fact that Rohan hadn't followed through on the date that he owed him, this was not a normal day. On the second day of the month he'll receive a nice flower arrangement with a note of his own attached.
Ciao Rohan,
You still owe me a date.
I would like to request your company for an evening in the next few days. I'm aware that the terms allowed me to pick what we do, but my only wish is to spend some time with you.
[ He's just quiet for a moments, looking vaguely horrified on the video. Yes, video. He should have turned that off, right. switched to text or something, right? Nope. He did not.
[ And now he has to ask because oh no. He has to know where she got the idea. He knows he gets a little wild during Cordis but he didn't think it was bad enough to give someone the idea that they could have slept together. So he has to know. ]
