[ Guess who is swinging into the window at ass-o-clock! A small gremlin child! Unfortunately, he doesn't put enough force to actually break the window so he has to keep swinging himself into the glass.
So it's like someone beating really hard on the window to be let in.
[ Yeah, he was half asleep with a cat curled up on him on the couch when this starts. If anything, the cat jumps first, and scatters hearing the noises at the window. He ignores it for a moment, but realizes that he doesn't want anyone else to be woken up by this (particularly Reimi or Arnold), so he gets up, grumbling in his pajamas as he makes his way to the window. Hair a mess, he's all around a little grumpy when he sees the offender --
[ Hisoka shrugs in a dramatic fashion before he hops into the apartment. Stretching his arms above his head, he looks around the area before turning to smile at the man. ]
I woke up here, but -- [ He tosses the bracelet that is normally on the grown man's wrist. Yes, that's right the communicator. ] -- I found this close to me.
Your address was listed on it as -- [ He waits for Rohan to read it. It reads "❤️❤️❤️❤️." ] Since I couldn't find the person that took me, I thought you might know where they are.
[ Rohan's filled with all sorts of mixed emotions at seeing the kid who seems to have no real idea what's going on. Well, that's great, isn't it? He doesn't really know what to do with a kid. Should he do something? Of course, he does consider that Hisoka could be deceiving him somehow - that something else is up because this child is presumably Hisoka. Or at least bears a resemblance unless the man has some illegitimate child somewhere around the city.
So, he bends his knees, working to wake himself up a bit, a little dazed from interrupted sleep shifting to take the communicator and look at how his information is entered. Yep - Hisoka. It has to be. He's the only one who would list him in such a way that Rohan knows.
If it were any other kid especially at home, Rohan wouldn't necessarily love it, either, but the words 'person who took me' are interesting enough to him. But, they got taken from home so he assumes that's what is meant. ]
You mean the person who brought you here instead of being at home?
[ He hopes, so he doesn't have to decide if he wants to help if there's something else. It's weird to him, because he doesn't really know what to do with a child. ]
[ His eyes dart to the side before returning back to Rohan's face. What is "home?" He doesn't really have one, and really is all right with that. Can he say where he was currently living is his home? Yes, he could say that. ]
Yeah.
[ He makes his voice sound a little more sure this time around. ]
So I can fight them.
[ Lifting his index finger, he wags it lightly at the man. ] It's not nice to kidnap children, Mister Hearts. A person who does that should be punished. [ The small child smiles as the hope of murder gleams in his eyes. ] That's only right, don't you think?
[ Sigh, not technically, at least. All they really knew was that they were here, ended up on a moon and in space, and had to deal with it. Rohan, who's not great with children anyway, is realizing that this Hisoka truly is a child who doesn't know a thing very quickly. He squats in front of the child, balancing on the balls of his toes and lifting a single hand to rest it on the child's head.
He's admittedly very curious about the type of person Hisoka was when he was small. He seems... still just as eager to fight. ]
I was kidnapped, too. If anything, it was just nature that brought us here. It's too bad, I would like to see you fight.
[ He doesn't knock Rohan's hand off his head but he does look decidedly a little annoyed about it being where it is. The annoyance fades quickly, however, as he is soon all smiles. ]
Is that so?
[ His eyes widen a little. ]
How do you know about that? Are you also a Nen User? [ His eyebrows furrow for a second before he hums. ] Or ... the answer is something else, huh?
[ Rohan doesn't move his hand, despite annoyances, up until Hisoka asks him about what his ability is. He reaches for his pen with said hand, and calls for Heaven's Door to appear beside him. He glances between his user and the child before him. ]
It's similar to Nen. His name is Heaven's Door.
[ And -- ]
I'm not going to explain it to you, since you'll be back to normal in no time.
[ Heaven's Door glances up towards Rohan then back towards the child. He seems to want to know if he should engage with the kid but Rohan only shakes his head and the stand settles there next to him hovering slightly above the ground but getting comfortable. ]
We're not going to play. Heaven's Door isn't for fighting like your Nen is.
[ He is straight forward. ]
He's for information.
[ He doesn't divulge anything else. He doesn't feel bad lying, though. He knows what a menace this child will be. ]
[ The child's legs seemingly give out as he lies on his side, dejected. It's sad that he's found something interesting and isn't able to test it out. Turning his head slightly, he looks back up. ]
[ After a few moments, Heaven's Door disappears. ]
Well, then I don't have to ask the questions - I just find the answers.
[ Between that, dishonest people, or stubborn people - Heaven's Door was a fast-pass towards answers to any questions that he may have. He liked it for that reason. He liked that he could easily find out things without asking. ]
[ He props his hand underneath his chin, seemingly thinking about what is said. ]
But that is fun. [ Hisoka laughs. It's much different than the laugh as an adult, of course. There's actual bright cheer in it, even if it's starting to be stained with darker intent. ]
You can find out a lot about a person by how they answer. People are fun to figure out that way, Mister Hearts. [ A wide smile breaks out across his face. ] Because you find out what they want to protect about themselves faster than just seeing the answers.
[ It just feels weird to be called Mister Hearts this child version of Hisoka. And he didn't necessarily love that it was how he was identified. But that wasn't a conversation for this kid. Not when Rohan knows that he'll be back to his own frustrating self in no time. ]
Maybe. I don't really care what people have to protect.
[ He cared about getting inspiration. He cared about his work. And the reality was he could find out everything about a person by just flipping through enough pages. ]
Some are good at hiding things. And it isn't always about what's fun. It's about what's effective.
[ His head cants to the side like he's hearing a foreign sound. A person that has a Nen creation doesn't want to find out those things? Well, Mister Rohan did say that he wasn't a person that wanted to fight. ]
There's no reason to be that way. Effective is nice, but fun is better. [ He holds his hands in the air and strings a line of his aura between them. ] When you're able to do both... it's really fun.
But Mister Rohan... [ He lifts his chin up before humming. ] I got bored with my question. [ The child gets up off the floor. ] A Nen's ability... it's from what a person wants to do.
So, you actually want to get to know people safely... that's cute.
I just want to get to know people honestly and in a way they may not otherwise share.
[ He squats down before the boy and watches him carefully so he can look him in the eye. He watches him use his abilities, he is afraid to take his eyes off of him. He's fascinated, really. From what he knows of Hisoka, this child version of himself isn't too surprising, really. He's still the same asshole Rohan knows, only smaller. ]
If I'm so boring, tell me what you find exciting.
[ He's just...gonna ask, because that's what he does. ]
[ He shakes his head. He got bored with his question rather than bored with Mister Rohan. ]
Well... fighting is exciting. [ The younger gremlin may not have grown into all his awful habits but he did find it to be fun. Clapping his hands together, he cheerfully says: ] Hey, hey, did you know one time I almost died.
I picked a fight with the wrong ... person? Persons? Anyway... they broke lots of stuff and left me on the side of the road. [ Hisoka sits back and lets out a small sigh. "C'est la vie." ] I would have died if someone hadn't decided to save me.
But that's my fault... I hadn't learned how to use Nen yet. The fight would have gone different, then. [ He follows up what he says in a lackadaisical way and shrugs equally easily. ] Oh well!
[ Why is he proud of this? Almost dying? Especially because he picked a fight with someone he shouldn't have. Everything about him as Rohan knows him really stands clearly in the smaller version of the man. ]
Don't be proud because you can't resist starting a fight that nearly kills you. [ He really hasn't changed. ] Some things really never change, I guess. [ He shifts, standing up straight. Finally, he turns shifting to make his way into the kitchen. ]
Do you want something to drink. I normally wouldn't offer [ to Hisoka, or anyone really, he's not much of a host ] but I see no harm right now.
But I am proud. [ He chimes back with more confidence than he should have about almost dying. ]
I do. [ Hisoka trots after Rohan; he even reaches his hand up so that he could hold hands as they go into the kitchen together. ] What will you give me? Will you give me anything I want to drink?
[ He doesn't know or really cares if he shouldn't give this younger version of the magician he knows certain things. He doesn't know if he has anything that could get him into trouble anyway. So, whatever he has is free to the kid...or whatever. He pauses when the other takes his hand then glances down towards him before proceeding.
[ He seems pleased with his selection. His head cocks as he looks up at Rohan like he is expecting some sort of special reaction to his request. Indeed, he had hoped to build up the anticipation that he would ask for something untoward and then actually request something reasonable.
It's fun to be difficult in those sort of ways. ]
Question, Mister Rohan. [ His arm shoots up in the air. ]
[ The honorific intentionally added for effect here. His answer surprises him, a little. If only because Hisoka has a history of testing him and his boundaries. As he awaits the question he moves to the fridge to retrieve the juice and searches for a smaller cup that the other can use. ]
You don't have to raise your hand. You're the only one here.
[ He searches for another chair to sit on and climbs up on it. Rather than sit politely on the chair itself, he sits on the back. Swinging his legs, he has the audacity to add: ]
I should be courteous to my host. [ Then, Hisoka gets to his question: ] Have you ever killed anyone?
Yes, you are. But the only guest I have so you can just speak.
[ He's used to the other just...behaving and doing what he wants. He shifts his weight, pouring a juice for the other and placing it on the counter. He leans onto it. ]
Not intentionally. I don't kill people, Hisoka-kun. Have you, yet?
[ Like his older self, he draws out the word. Hisoka reaches out with both hands to take the glass -- actually being careful about not spilling it before drinking.
The child's eyes seems to darken at the words "not intentionally" before they brighten immediately after. ]
I have. But, well, it isn't like I sought that person out. [ He sets the glass down. ] The person taught me about Nen. They were the ones who rescued me. However, they were also secretly a serial killer. [ The child draws out his words like he's putting on a show -- he even lifts up his arms like he's pretending to be a ghost at the word "serial killer."
Hisoka makes soft tut-tut-tut sounds. ]
But... they didn't go after strong people. They just went after weak people without any Nen. [ He shakes his head making more tsk-tsk-tsk sounds. ] What's the fun in that?
TIME DISTORTIONS!!!
So it's like someone beating really hard on the window to be let in.
Hello. ]
omg
What.
Oh no.
He props open the window and shakes his head. ]
What happened to you?
