I know it's possible, but for him to remember it is strange. It wasn't as though he was replaced by a version of himself who lived - it was him. He remembers most of it, but only the things we talked about.

That's a little different than just an alternate version of our world.

Sourced from a timeline very similar to the one we lived. I think the only big difference is that I hadn't been to Morioh yet. He had no idea why I would be there.

There's a lot more you could learn from him aside from that. And I'm not saying that to be an asshole - it's like you said, he's interesting. But it isn't the sort of thing you can learn from reading his life.

That's the point I'm trying to make. You can read everything about him, and I'm sure he'll let you, but you have to experience a lot of it in person to really understand it. Before the incident at the tailors I would have said he was dependable based solely on what I've heard; after, I know he is because I saw it with my own eyes.

That's what I mean when I say you can learn a lot more about him by just speaking to him. You'll learn things about him that not even he realizes yet.

I think you've overestimated how much I enjoy engaging with other people.

I learn plenty via experience. Heaven's Door takes a significant load off of it, though.
